Section 1: The Beginnings
Yevgeny Prigozhin, a man of remarkable resilience and determination, born in 1961, initially involved in robbery and theft. In 1981 he was imprisoned for 12 years but released in 1990 due to his good behaviour. However, he managed to turn his life around and in 1995, he entered the restaurant business.
Section 2: The Chef
It was during this time that Prigozhin had the opportunity to serve his delectable cuisine to international dignitaries visiting Russia for official visits, catching the attention of none other than the Russian President, Vladimir Putin. This encounter marked the beginning of a long-lasting relationship that would shape Prigozhin’s future ventures. And soon he got contract to supply meal to Russian army, , that is how he came into contact with Military Establishments
Section 3: The Birth of a Private Military Company
In 2014, Prigozhin founded the Wagner Group, a Russian-funded private military company. The group was established to support pro-Russian paramilitary forces in Ukraine and to assist the Russian Army in their missions. However, Prigozhin also extended his support to Russian friends in Africa and Middle East, showcasing his dedication to advancing the interests of his country on a global scale. But he always denied any links to the Wagner Group.
Section 4: A Whistleblower’s Bold Stand
Throughout the Russia-Ukraine War, Prigozhin courageously spoke out against the mismanagement of the conflict by Russian military commanders and Kremlin officials. His criticisms drew attention to the need for better strategies and accountability in order to protect the lives of Russian army soldiers and Wagner fighters alike.
In June 2023, Prigozhin’s bravery reached new heights when he accused the Russian army of attacking Wagner soldiers and occupying the Russian city of Rostov. He even threatened to march towards Moscow, a bold move that shook the nation. However, after the intervention of Belarus President, a peaceful resolution was reached, and Prigozhin decided to abandon his plans for a march on Moscow and flew to Belarus.
Section 5: The Crash and Unanswered Question
On the 23rd of August 2023, tragedy struck when Prigozhin’s plane crashed while traveling from Moscow to St Petersburg. Along with Prigozhin, nine others lost their lives in the crash, leaving behind a multitude of unanswered questions and fueling conspiracy theories.
